Time to manifest your dreams: Saturn in Pisces 2023-2025
We are starting the spring season with one of the more significant transits — Saturn entering Pisces on March 7, 2023, where it will stay until May 24, 2025.
As we continue to move through the astrological events of 2023, we are starting the spring season with one of the more significant transits — Saturn entering Pisces on March 7, 2023, where it will stay until May 24, 2025. The taskmaster meets the dreamer, and it’s time to get serious, take those dreams, and make them a reality!
Here comes Saturn
Saturn represents one of the more complex archetypes of the astrological mandala and often gets a bad rap for being the planet of doom and gloom. The Greeks knew Saturn as Cronus, derived from the word ‘cronos,’ meaning ‘time,’ which Saturn rules. Saturn is essential to a fulfilling life, and its benefits far outweigh its poor reputation. It’s a taskmaster and embodies our need to get real, get honest, and get shit done! It’s the planet of responsibility, maturity, wisdom, discipline, justice, and karma. Working with Saturn is much easier than working against it, as it will always come back to bite you with a bit of karma in the long run.
What is Pisces?
Pisces, the 12th sign of the zodiac, is ruled by Jupiter (traditional) and Neptune (modern). This water sign rules the 12th house — the house of the unconscious, spirituality, solitude, rest and recovery, self-sacrifice, loss, hidden enemies, dreams, and the psychic field. Pisces is represented by the two fish — this symbol was even found on an Egyptian coffin lid dating back to 2300 BC. The two fish look to be traveling against each other in opposite directions and are said to be struggling between reality and fantasy. However, this image truly depicts one fish traveling toward spiritual illumination and one traveling along the earthly plane, taking care of life in the 3D world.
Pisces is naturally mystical, with one foot in this world and one in another. Its energy is emotional and soulful, drawn to release the separate sense of self and connect with something greater. Pisces is imaginative, idealistic, deeply caring, and hypersensitive. Some of the best Piscean qualities are compassion, acceptance, vision, psychic sensitivity, and inspired creativity. As the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces is said to have absorbed the lessons of the other 11 zodiac signs, making it exceptionally wise, but like everything else, it has its shadow side. Pisces can be prone to escapism, avoidance, distortion, addiction, paranoia, and feelings of hopelessness. As we see the duality of Pisces symbolism, this sign proves it’s much more than two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl.
What’s a transit?
In astrology, transits are the actual movements of the planets across the sky. The planets all move through the 12 zodiac signs at different rates. The farther away from the Sun a planet is, the slower it moves and the longer it stays in a sign. For example, Mercury stays in each sign for about two to three weeks, while Saturn stays in each sign for approximately 2.5 years. Right now, Saturn is moving or transiting through the sign Pisces. Along with all transiting planets, Saturn in the sky aligns with or activates a specific area of your birth chart. This transit affects us all, personally and collectively, and we will live with the Saturn in Pisces vibe for just over 2 years.
Saturn in Pisces
Saturn last transited Pisces from May 1993 through April 1996. Pisces Kurt Cobain’s artistic sensitivity got the best of him during this time, and his untimely death made him the ultimate messiah of the ’90s — a very Piscean moniker. Cult-favorite films Trainspotting and Pulp Fiction and the book Fight Club depicted characters battling addiction and dissociation — some successfully, some not. On the flip side, Saturn harnessed the Piscean realm of dreams and imagination and put Jumanji, The Mask, Jurassic Park, and Toy Story out into a society ready to escape into the imaginary world of film, also ruled by Pisces.
As big of a juxtaposition as it seems, Saturn in Pisces can actually work. Saturn asks us to get to work when it comes to manifesting our Piscean qualities — not just for ourselves as individuals but for society as a whole. Saturn stabilizes and adds structure and productive energy to the world — and Saturn in Pisces is asking us to get serious about putting our spirituality, imagination, compassion, dreams, and inspired creativity into the 3D world. No more dreaming about it — it’s time to DO! Saturn looks to take those dreams and ideas and bring them down to earth. Which of your dreams will you make a reality?

As Saturn transits Pisces for the next 2 plus years, prepare for the unreal to become real. Our beliefs and dreams will be tested, and we will be asked to sacrifice the unrealistic in order for the achievable to become a reality. It’s time to give up our fantasies and get serious about our dreams. Along with the endings that come with Pisces, the 12th and final sign of the zodiac, come the seeds of new beginnings. Saturn represents karma and the end of life — and letting go of dead weight allows us the clear path we need to move forward with everything we imagine and create during this transit. And so it is.
